About Kirsten

A tattooer by trade, Kirsten Holliday is a multidisciplinary artist in Portland, Oregon. She was born and raised in Texas, left for the Pacific Northwest as soon as was practical, and now very much enjoys living amidst the tall trees and drizzle. After graduating with a degree in rhetoric and writing from the University of Texas, she learned to tattoo in 2010, and resumed writing in 2020 after ten years dedicated to learning her craft. She recently illustrated SingleThread by Kyle and Katina Connaughton,available in October 2026 with Penguin Random House. She is currently working on a four-book high fantasy series.

In her free time, she does escape rooms, grows flowers, and sings in Portland’s Bach Cantata Choir. She is, probably obviously, an unrelenting nerd.
